"CORMAC HAS ACTED FOR CLIENTS IN ALL OF THE UK AND IRISH COURTS"

CORMAC CAWLEY

Cormac Cawley is a former Barrister and trained Mediator with almost 25 years experience as a lawyer in two jurisdictions. As a former partner in medium sized City and Mayfair firms he knows about running his own business. He established Cormac T. Cawley & Co in July 2007.

In May 2006 parties linked to the funder in the Arkin* case headhunted Cormac to advise and assist with the launch of a new litigation funding business.

Cormac read German and Latin at Trinity College, Dublin before being called to the Irish Bar in 1984 where he practised until 1990. In March 1990 he relocated to London and was called to the Middle Temple. He worked with a City firm for 18 months. After a short spell in-house with London Electricity plc Cormac returned to private practice and partnership. Over the years he has worked on occasional secondment in-house with insurance companies.

He has been described variously by clients and colleagues as “knowledgeable”, “thorough”, “straight-talking”, “fights his corner well”, and “understanding and supportive in difficult times”. He has acted for clients in all of the UK and Irish courts. He is a former Chairman of the International Association of Irish Lawyers.

Cormac set up his own firm to deliver high quality services at affordable prices in contrast to the conventional high-charging culture of larger City firms. The firm makes full use of electronic communication allowing busy clients to seek and receive advice with greater efficiency and ease.

The firm operates from a base close to the Tower Bridge in the City of London, within easy access to High Court, counsels’ chambers and most experts.

Cormac’s interests are swimming, fitness, current affairs, photography, opera, travel, good food and gardening.
